Village des valeurs, an ally of EDQ’s cause

Entraide diabétique du Québec, affiliated partner

Since it was founded in 1994, Entraide diabétique du Québec (EDQ) has maintained a business relationship with Village des valeurs, supplying 11 branches in Quebec. This partnership allows EDQ to donate all its profits to Diabète Québec, while continuing to serve the environmental cause.

    The 11 EDQ-affiliated stores are :

    • Drummondville: 565, boul. Saint-Joseph Suite M4
    • Gatineau: 361, boul. Maloney O.
    • Laval: 875, boul. Curé Labelle
    • Laval (Pont-Viau): 1051, boul. des Laurentides
    • Québec: 2555, boul. Montmorency
    • Québec (Lebourgneuf): 5600, boul. des Gradins
    • Saint-Jérôme: 120, rue Valmont
    • Sainte-Foy: 3355, rue de La Pérade
    • Terrebonne (Lachenaie): 651, rue des Migrateurs
    • Trois-Rivières: 6055, boul. Jean XXIII
    • Vaudreuil-Dorion: 3202, boul. de la Gare

People wishing to donate their clothing and small household items in good condition can take them to one of those Value Village’s Community Donation Centres. Every donation made directly in one of the 11 dedicated stores is collected by Village des valeurs on behalf of Entraide diabétique du Québec and helps support our organization.

Village des Valeurs’ fundamental principle is to support local communities. Village des Valeurs pays Entraide diabétique du Québec for the merchandise people donate, whether the items are chosen for the sales floor or not. When people donate their items, they’re not just giving them a second life, they’re turning them into a sustainable source of funding for Entraide diabétique du Québec.

Note: Shopping in Value Village stores doesn’t support any nonprofit.

The Value Village : thrift proud

According to Recyc-Québec, each person throws away an average of 24 kg of clothing per year, or approximately 190,000 metric tons of fabric. Moreover, the average person buys 60% more clothes than 15 years ago, while keeping them for only half as long as before1. The mission of the Value Village is therefore to promote reuse and it has been doing so since its first store opened in San Francisco in 1954.

Since then, all the stores that have opened have partnered with local non-profit organizations to help fund their programs in the community. The Value Village has also established its own flagship recycling and reuse program to keep tons of reusable items out of landfill sites every year. Like us, the VVS supports the circular economy as well as giving you the opportunity to make unique finds at low prices!
